Jo Eyles

Jo is the internal verifier for our Open College Network courses.  Utilising her teaching expertise she ensures an extremely high standard of course delivery from all Sonic Boom tutors and volunteers.  With the communication skills developed during her school teaching career Jo introduces new ideas and themes to learners with varying abilities in an accessible and exciting manner.

Specialising in the use of traditional DJ technology Jo uses industry standard DJ decks to demonstrate the value of dance music cultures and DJ skills, from their origins to their current forms.  Jo co-produces our course materials as well as overseeing the formation of tailored and engaging lesson plans.

Beyond the workshop sessions Jo undertakes the role of Company Director and is responsible for business planning and shaping the development of the organisation.  By forging excellent working relationships with established youth service providers and community project facilitators Jo leads the expansion of our initiative and cements Sonic Boom’s reputation as a valuable and well respected organisation.  Sourcing funding channels and completing funding applications she ensures our continued success and growth.

Simon Harding

Simon is the Open College Network course leader and assists in both the practical and written aspects of all workshop sessions, providing regular formal and informal feedback to learners.  Simon demonstrates the creative potential of new DJ technologies, specialising in the use of industry standard CD decks.  Simon co-produces the learning materials for the courses and assists in the formation of intuitive lesson plans.

Beyond the workshop sessions Simon undertakes the role of Company Secretary and is responsible for the administrative aspects of the organisation.  He contributes to the completion of funding applications and the logistical side of project planning as well as overseeing the accounting and marketing of the Sonic Boom enterprise.

Additional Staff

Sonic Boom also utilises a pool of talented workshop assistants that aid the delivery of our courses on an ad hoc basis, on either paid or voluntary terms.  Staff and volunteers are carefully vetted and adequately trained and all members of the Sonic Boom team have up-to-date extended CRB certificates in place.  Contact us at sbdjtuition@gmail.com if you are interested in getting involved.
